Telangana lifts Covid lockdown completely; Karnataka and UP announce relaxations in lockdown restrictions in view of declining Covid-19 cases

Telangana government has announced lifting of lockdown completely from today onwards. The decision came in the wake of decline in the number of COVID-19 cases and positivity rate in the state. The Government has issued Orders to this effect opening up of all sectors and removing all restrictions.

However, the Government urged people to observe COVID appropriate behaviour by wearing face mask, maintaining physical distance and keeping hands sanitized besides being away from crowds.

AIR Correspondent reports, after the State government’s decision to lift off lockdown, the reopening of all sectors came into force from this morning. After considering the reports by medical and health officials that the number of covid cases came down in the state and the pandemic is under control, the state government opted for reopening of all sectors.

The strict lockdown was in force from May 12th onwards in the state and lockdown relaxed for extended hours from 9th of this month. With lifting off restrictions, the Hyderabad Metro Rail services will resume close to normal operations from tomorrow, from 7AM to 9 PM. Markets.

Malls, entertainment and others will free from restrictions from today onwards. Meanwhile, the educational institutions will be open up for off-line classes from 1st July onwards and guidelines for the same are under preparation.

Meanwhile, Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa announced relaxations in lockdown norms in 16 districts of the state where Covid Positivity rate is below five percent. These relaxations will be effective from tomorrow and remain so till July 5th. In the remaining 14 districts with over five percent positivity rate, the lockdown norms will continue as before.

AIR Correspondent reports, Based on the technical Advisory committee recommendations lockdown norms are relaxed in Bengaluru urban, yadgir, Bidar, Kalaburagi, Belagavi, Mandya, Koppal, Chikkaballapur, Kolar, Gadag, Raichur, Bagalkot and Tumkuru.

All business establishments will remain open till 5.00 pm in these districts. Buses and Metro rail will start operation. Parks will be open from 5.00 am to 6.00 pm, Hotels, clubs and restaurants, lodges and resorts can operate with 50 percent seating capacity without air-conditioning, Outdoor shooting of films and TV serials and outdoor sports without spectators allowed. Shopping malls, swimming pools, places of worship and public events will not be allowed.

The Uttar Pradesh government is giving more relaxations in covid restrictions from tomorrow. New guidelines have been issued by chief secretary of state Rajendra Kumar Tiwari for the corona curfew yesterday. AIR correspondent reports that, as per new orders shopping malls and restaurants will be allowed to operate with 50% capacity on weekdays till 9pm. Other standalone shops and market complexes can also remain open for five days a week now.

Government has decided to grant two more hours of relaxation in the statewide night curfew that currently remains imposed in all its 75 districts due to the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) situation. Now shops in the state can open from 7 am in the morning to 9 pm in the evening. Night curfew will now be imposed from 9 pm in the evening across the state.

Meanwhile Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath today said that a new phase of vaccination will start from tomorrow and the decision of the prime minister will help in getting people vaccinated faster. He said that we must take the benefit of the free vaccination starting from tomorrow and the target should be to inoculate 6 lakh beneficiaries per day.
