Maharashtra: All 16 members rescued from sinking MV Mangalam in Raigad

In Maharashtra’s Raigad district, Indian Coast Guard on Thursday rescued all 16 crew members from sinking cargo ship MV Mangalam near Revdanda Port. In the wee hours today, Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC) in Mumbai received a telephonic information from Second Officer of Indian flagged MV Mangalam intimating that the vessel was partially sinking with the crew onboard around three kilometres away from Revdanda Jetty. Amid inclement weather, Indian Coast Guard ship and helicopter undertook successful operation to rescue all the crew members. The rescued crew members were taken to Revdanda and administered first aid. Indian Coast Guard Ship Subhadra Kumari Chauhan and two helicopters of Coast Guard carried out this operation.
