This will also be the first time Indian women cricketers are playing England in a multi-format series. The two teams play one Test, three ODIs and three T20 Internationals.
It will be a tough task for India against one of the best sides but Mithali Raj’s team has quality players in the ranks to battle it out for four days. Apart from the experienced players like Mithali, Jhulan Goswami, Harmanpreet, the Indian team will hope the likes of Shafali Verma, Jemimah Rodrigues can impress in red-ball cricket. The match starts at 3.30 P.M. IST.
Meanwhile, the England & Wales Cricket Board has issued an apology for not being able to offer a fresh pitch for the women’s Test. The two teams have to settle for playing on a surface that is 37 overs old, as the venue hosted a T20 Blast game last week.
