Bangladesh extends closure of educational institutions till June 30

The ongoing closures of educational institutions in Bangladesh has been further extended till June 30.

The current closure of schools, colleges and universities was coming to an end on Saturday, June 12.

The press release issued by the Ministry of Education on Saturday said that the closure will also include Ebtdayi and Qawmi madrasas of the country.

The move has been made in order to contain the spread of the coronavirus in the country.

The closure of educational institutions is done considering the health and safety of students, teachers, staff and guardians of the students following the advice of the National Advisory Committee on COVID 19, said the release.

The online academic activities will continue.

Educational institutions in Bangladesh have remained closed since March last year after the first corona positive case was detected in the country.
