Sensex and Nifty rise more than half per cent amid positive Asian cues

The Sensex and the Nifty today rose more than half a per cent amid positive Asian cues. The Sensex closed above the 52,000 mark while the Nifty settled above the 15,700 level.

The Sensex at Bombay Stock Exchange climbed 359 points, or 0.69 per cent, to finish at 52,300. The Nifty at the National Stock Exchange also surged 102 points, or 0.65 per cent, to close at 15,738.
