Daily COVID-19 positive cases decline to less than 5000 in Chhattisgarh

In Chhattisgarh, the second wave of Covid infection has slowed down with daily positive cases declining to less than 5000 after a span of one and a half months.

The number of deaths has also come down to less than 100 while the state’s average test positivity rate has dropped to eight percent.

14 districts of the state have registered a positivity rate of eight percent or less.

AIR correspondent reports, in Chhattisgarh, on an average of 65 thousand samples are being tested daily for identification of corona infected patients.

In the last one week, more than 4 lakh 56 thousand samples have been tested.

Covid vaccination campaign in the state is also continuing vigorously.

More than 06 lakh 66 thousand people in the age group of 18 to 44 years have been inoculated with Covid vaccine.

Special preparations are being made for the treatment of children in hospitals of various districts in view of the possible third wave of corona infection A 25-bed child ICU is being setup at Covid Hospital in Durg district.

Necessary medicines and other facilities will be available here for the treatment of children.
