Over 1.97 crore Covid vaccine doses still available with States & UTs: Health Ministry

The Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry has said that more than one crore 97 lakh Covid vaccine doses are still available with the States and Union Territories to be administered to the beneficiaries.

The Ministry has said, the Union Government has provided over 21 crore Covid vaccine doses to States and Union Territories so far.

Of this, the total consumption of doses including wastages is over 19 crore nine lakh.

The Ministry has assured that more than 26 lakh vaccine doses will be provided to States and Union Territories within the next three days.

The Union Health Ministry has said, vaccination is a crucial pillar in the fight against the corona virus and a third phase of Covid-19 vaccination has already started in the country.

It said, the Central Government has also been facilitating direct procurement of vaccines by the States and Union Territories.
