IOC ready to send medical staff to Tokyo for Olympic Games to support Corona virus counter-measures: Thomas Bach

International Olympic Committee President Thomas Bach has said that the organization is ready to send medical staff to Tokyo for this year’s Olympic Games to support Coronavirus counter-measures.

The IOC chief’s words come at a time when doctors and nurses in Japan have expressed strong opposition to the Games with hospitals overwhelmed by rising numbers of Coronavirus infections.

Olympic-bound boxers Manish Kaushik and Satish Kumar will skip the Asian Boxing Championships starting May 21 in Dubai as they haven’t fully recovered from COVID-19.

Germany has recalled its football World Cup winners Thomas Mueller and Mats into the national team following an absence of more than two years after the coach Joachim Loew confirmed the squad for Euro 2020.
