Railways has delivered more than 10,300 tonnes of Liquid Medical Oxygen to 13 states. The Railway Ministry said, Railways is continuing its journey of bringing relief by delivering liquid medical oxygen to various states across the country.
Oxygen Expresses have been delivering nearly 800 tonnes of Liquid Medical Oxygen to the nation each day. The Ministry said, in spite of upcoming cyclone Tauktae, Railways run two Oxygen Expresses early morning from Gujarat to beat high winds and deliver 150 tonnes of Oxygen to the nation. Railway is picking up oxygen from places like Hapa and Mundra in the West and Rourkela, Durgapur, Tatanagar, Angul in the east and then delivering it to States of Uttarakhand, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra, Tamil Nadu Haryana, Telangana Punjab , Kerala, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh. The Ministry said, nearly 160 Oxygen Expresses have completed their journey so far and brought relief to various States.
Railways has so far delivered 521 tonnes of Liquid Medical Oxygen to Maharashtra, 2652 tonnes to Uttar Pradesh, 431 tonnes to Madhya pradesh, 3734 tonnes to Delhi, 1290 tonnes to Haryana, 564 tonnes to Telangana, 40 tonnes to Rajasthan, 371 tonnes in Karnataka, 200 tonnes in Uttarakhand, 231 tonnes in Tamil Nadu, 118 tonnes in Kerala and 40 tonnes in Punjab.
