INS Trikand carrying 40 metric tonnes of liquid medical oxygen, arrives at Mumbai’s Naval Dockyard

As part of the Indian Navy’s Operation ‘Samudra Setu II’, INS Trikand arrived at Mumbai’s Naval Dockyard this morning, carrying 40 metric tonnes of liquid medical oxygen.

INS Trikand was deployed to augment the shipment of liquid medical oxygen cryogenic containers from Qatar’s Hamad Port as part of the French mission ‘Oxygen Solidarity Bridge’ to support India’s efforts in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. An additional 600 metric tonnes of liquid medical oxygen is likely to be shipped to India over the next two months.

Speaking to reporters in Mumbai, Captain Harish Bahuguna stated that the effort is part of Indian Navy to support national COVID-19 response.
