Railway hands over 298 isolation coaches to various States for Covid care

Railway has handed over 298 isolation coaches to various states for Covid care with a bed-capacity of more than four thousand 700 beds. The Ministry said, Railway has swiftly moved 21 isolation coaches to Guwahati and 20 Isolation Coaches to Badarpur near Silchar in Assam. It said the latest demand came from Gujarat, wherein the Railways have deployed 10 coaches for Sabarmati and six coaches for Chandoliya. The Railways has made available a fleet of more than four thousand 400 Isolation Coaches with around 70 thousand beds so far to serve as Isolation Units. The Ministry said these isolation coaches have also been positioned in the States of Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra.
