Prez Kovind, PM Modi condole demise of Philipose Mar Chrysostom

President Ram Nath Kovind today said Dr Philipose Mar Chrysostom Mar Thoma Valiya Metropolitan was one of the longest serving bishops in India.  In his condolence message at the demise of the bishop,  Mr Kovind said he had touched millions with his religiosity, compassion and service, specially to needy and downtrodden.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi condoled the demise of former head of the Malankara Mar Thoma Syrian Church and the longest-serving bishop in India, Dr Philipose Mar Chrysostom. Mr. Modi said Mar Chrysostom will always be remembered for his great theological knowledge and his work towards alleviation of human suffering.

Mar Chrysostom who was 103 years old, passed away early this morning due to age-related ailments.
