Karnataka govt taking several measures to tackle COVID situation

Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa today said that ministers are touring various districts and holding meetings with the administrations to streamline the process to test, track and treat COVID patients and carry out vaccination drive. AIR correspondent reports that Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike, BBMP has appointed a Committee headed by the Special Commissioner D Randeep to take stock and indent details of each hospital in the city on the availability of oxygen.

To improve the hospital bed allocation system in the city, the Member of Parliament Tejasvi Surya has sought the help of Infosys co-founder Nandan Nilekani. In a tweet today the MP has thanked Nilekani for agreeing to revamp BBMP bed allocation software so that the system becomes tamper proof. In another development the state government has appointed a one man commission under retired High Court Judge Justice B A Patil to inquire into the incident of 24 deaths in Chamarajanagar district hospital allegedly due to the lack of oxygen.
