Amid the second wave of corona virus, the Defence Research and Development Organization, DRDO is continuously engaged in creating a robust medical infrastructure and equipment.
In an exclusive interview to AIR News, DRDO Chairman, Dr G Satheesh Reddy said, the DRDO is setting up several COVID specific hospitals in the various parts of the country to provide better health care facilities to the COVID patients.
Mr. Reddy said, the DRDO is working to set up more than 500 oxygen plants across the country and trying to build up the facilities for production of additional medical oxygen by reorienting several technologies. He said, the DRDO is going to produce one lakh 50 thousands mini oxygen cylinders for the household needs.
The Chairman said, the DRDO has used its military expertise and knowledge to develop various medical equipment to provide relief to the Covid patients.
