In Maharashtra, 95 thousand 535 benificiaries were inoculated on the first day of phase 3 of vaccination drive which began for the age group of 18-44 years yesterday.
Nagpur registered the highest number of inoculation with 9269 doses, followed by Thane with 9091 doses and Osmanabad remained on the third spot yesterday with 8202 doses administered yesterday. Only 1936 doses were administered in Mumbai yesterday.
The state government had distributed three lakh vaccine doses received from Serum institute to the districts for the third phase of vaccination drive on Friday.
Meanwhile the numbers of Covid-19 patients are declining in Mumbai and the city registered less than 4000 daily cases for the second consecutive day yesterday. Thane district is also showing the declining trend. But the situation in Pune, Nagpur and Nashik and other rural parts of the state is yet to improve.
