Govt leaves GPF, other non-government PF interest rate unchanged at 7.1%

Government has left GPF and other non-government PF interest rate unchanged at 7.1 percent. Department of Economic Affairs said that GPF and other Special Deposit Scheme interest rate of 7.1 percent will be applicable for April to June quarter of the current financial year. The government has decided to maintain status quo on General Provident Fund (GPF) and other non-government PF, gratuity funds interest rate at 7.1 percent. The deposits made under the Special Deposit Scheme for Non-Government Provident, Superannuation and Gratuity Funds will also bear interest at 7.1 percent with effect from April 1, 2021. The decision is in-line with its earlier decision to keep interest rate on small savings schemes such as Public Provident Fund (PPF), NSC, etc unchanged for the current quarter.
