J&K govt ready to face challenges related to Covid-19

The Jammu and Kashmir government has said that the Covid situation is very much under control and they are ready to face challenges related to Covid-19.

23 hospitals with capacity of 1705 beds and ventilators have been notified as dedicated Covid-19 hospitals, besides level 3 hospitals, there are level 2 and level 1 hospitals, where Covid-19 patients are being treated.

Several Covid positive persons are under home isolation.

Amid the upsurge in Covid-19 cases, Covid care centres are being made operational besides enhancing facilities at the hospitals.

All incoming travellers are being tested as per protocol.

Further 23 Oxygen generation plants are being made functional this week that will help in adding 2000 more oxygen beds in the UT.

The government has also approved establishment of 36 oxygen generation plants in J&K.

Pertinently, Jammu and Kashmir recorded the highest single-day spike of 25 fatalities in the last 24 hours, taking the toll to 2,172, while 2,135 fresh cases were also reported – 791 from Jammu division and 1,344 from the Kashmir division.
