In Gujarat, the 900 bed Dhanvantari Covid Care Hospital jointly set up by the DRDO and the state government at Gujarat University Convention and Exhibition Centre in Ahmedabad has become operational. The hospital started admitting patients yesterday. According to the sources, the hospital started admitting patients through 108 emergency services.
More beds will be made available to Covid-19 patients in a phased manner in coming days. The Union Home Minister Amit Shah had reviewed the dry run of this hospital last week, which had 900 beds with oxygen facility, out of which 100 ICU beds with ventilators.
Meanwhile, a dairy cooperative in north Gujarat has set up an oxygen plant for the Covid patients in a record 72 hours.
