EC deploys 779 companies of central forces for 6th phase of West Bengal Assembly elections

Election Commission has deployed 779 companies of central forces for the sixth phase of Assembly elections in West Bengal.

The commission has deployed 107 companies of central forces for Barrackpore constituency alone, which has a history of violence in the last few elections.

The highest deployment of 278 companies of central forces has been done in North 24 Parganas district followed by 181 companies in North Dinajpur district, 163 companies in Nadia district and 157 companies in East Burdwan district.

The Commission said, the move is aimed at conducting the elections in peaceful and free and fair manner.
