Telangana reports 6,542 cases of COVID-19

Telangana reported Six thousand, Five hundred, 42 fresh COVID-19 cases during the past 24 hours. According to the State Covid Bulletin, 20 more persons succumbed to COVID-19 and other comorbidities taking the death toll in the state to 18 hundred 76. AIR correspondent reports, in the biggest daily spike, Telangana reported over 6 thousand five hundred fresh COVID cases while night curfew came into force since last evening.

Most of the 33 districts in the state have shown quantum jump in the daily reported cases to over hundred. Police have witnessed hard time last night creating awareness among people about the enforcement of night curfew and asked the firms and businesses to close early and asking people to cooperate for containing spread of COVID.  Meanwhile, the Cinema theatres Owners Association has decided to stop screenings after the Government impose restrictions in the wake of COVID Second Wave across the state.

The state has currently over 46 thousand active cases. The recovery rate in the state has further dipped to 86.85 percent from over 98 per cent a month ago. However, the number of people recovered from COVID has increased to over three lakh, 19 thousand and about 3 lakh 68 thousand COVID cases reported in the state so far. Meanwhile, over 32 lakh 68 thousand people have been vaccinated so far while the vaccination is vigorously underway in the state.
