No need to impose complete lockdown in UP, says Uttar Pradesh government

Uttar Pradesh government has said that there is no need of lockdown in the state. Allahabad High court had yesterday directed the government to impose lockdown in 5 cities of the state. These cities are Lucknow, Kanpur, Varanasi, Prayagraj and Gorakhpur.

The UP government has conveyed that along with saving lives, the livelihood of the poor has to be protected. Therefore, there will not be a complete lockdown in the cities. State government also said that people are observing voluntary shutdowns at many places.
