Teeka Utsav in Puducherry gains momentum with 1,21,936 persons inoculated so far

In the Union Territory of Puducherry the Teeka Utsav – Mass Vaccination drive has gained momentum and so far 1,21,936 persons inoculated. The Lieutenant Governor Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan said that the vaccination drive will be extended for 4 more days following the positive response from the public.

AIR Correspondent reports, the ‘COVID Vaccination Thiruvizha’ has been launched on April 11th. Arrangements have been made in 100 places including all Government hospitals, PHCs and Selected Government Schools to inoculate the people above 45 years. Under this programme 1,21,936 persons administered Vaccines. This includes 29,427 Health Care Workers, 16,852 Front Line Workers and 75,657 General Public.

So far, no adverse complaints from those took the vaccination. Administration of corona Vaccines has been increased in all the hospitals, besides rapid and RT PCR tests in view of the emerging situation.

As on today 3,032 Persons are being treated for the infection, including 616 in hospitals and 2416 persons in home quarantine. The recovery rate stands at 91.79% and the fatality rate at 1.54%.
