Total Covid-19 positive cases stand at 557 in Ladakh

In Ladakh, the covid cases are going up by each passing day. Hundred and sixteen confirmed cases were reported yesterday. AIR correspondent reports that 116 new cases detection is another spike in covid 19 in Ladakh during this week. With the discharge of 64 recovered patients and by 116 new cases, the number of total positive cases now stand at 557 in the Union Territory, with 509 cases in Leh district alone.

The administration is continuously screening all the arriving passengers for covid 19 at the KBR airport Leh. Yesterday, 1669 passengers have been screened at the airport.

Before the tourism season, the airport is witnessing highest average footfall with inbound workers, returnees following the receding winters in the Ladakh region.
