Kerala Government is to embark on a mass vaccination drive, named “Crushing the curve” to contain the Covid19 pandemic. AIR correspondent reports that the State presently is witnessing surge in cases as it confirmed 5063 new Covid cases last day.
State Health Minister K.K.Shailaja announced regarding the mass vaccination drive across the State after a high-level meeting with top officials last day.She further said that under the” Crushing the Curve” drive, it is planned to vaccinate maximum number of people in the age group 45 to 60 in coming days and the State will approach the Centre for supply of more vaccines.
The meeting also decided to strengthen the treatment facilities at hospitals across the state and decided to equip the hospitals with more ICU and ventilator facilities. bShailaja also pointed out that Kerala is vulnerable because 89 per cent of the population has not turned Covid positive yet . Meanwhile, the Covid protocols which were loosened on account of the Assembly elections were tightened again and the police asked to take strict enforcement measures.
