Script by Venkat Parsa, Journalist

In a major push to Nature Conservation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has signalled the need for the people to once again reconnect with Nature and Conserve Water. Underscoring the significance of water, Prime Minister Modi declared that the touch of water is essential, both for life and for development.

Besides, he called for moving ahead with Science, with the Mantra of Lab to Land. Prime Minister Modi said, “When every citizen of the country will spread the spirit of science in his life and in every field, avenues of progress will open up and the country will become self-reliant, too. And I do believe that every citizen of the country can do this.” Science is important to make India Self-Reliant, he said.

In his latest edition of Man Ki Baat on February 28, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that in India, water is a symbol of Faith, Life and Development. “For us, water is Life; Faith, too, and the flow of Development, as well,” he said, in his heart-to-heart talk, directly with the people of the country.

Reminding the people of the sanctity of water in India, Prime Minister Modi said there should not be a single day in India when there is no festival connected with water in some corner of the country or the other.

Prime Minister Modi said the Month of Magh is associated with water, primarily because the end of this month marks the end of Winter and heralds the arrival of Summer, when the necessity of water is felt acutely, by one and all.

For this reason, one must begin efforts right away for the conservation of water. Significantly, in a few days from now, World Water Day falls on March 22.

This year, the Kumbh Mela, which marks the largest gathering of people on the banks, will be in Haridwar, on the banks of the Holy River Ganga.

In a way, the Prime Minister said, water is more important than Philosopher’s Stone, or the Paras Stone, as it is popularly called, whose touch turns even iron into gold.

Prime Minister Modi reminded the people that February 28 also happens to be National Science Day. The day is dedicated to the discovery of the Raman Effect by the great Indian Scientist, Dr C V Raman. The discovery of the Raman Effect had changed the direction of science in its entirety.

Prime Minister Modi acknowledged that there are many scientists of India, without whose contribution, science would not have progressed as much. The way we know of other scientists of the world, in the same way, we should also know about the scientists of India. Prime Minister Modi declared, “I definitely would want our youth to know, understand and read a lot about the history of the science of India; about our scientists, as wel
Prime Minister Modi said that Science is not just Physics, Chemistry or the Labs. The spread of science is much more than that. And there is a lot of contribution of the power of science in the Atmanirbhar Bharat Campaign. He said, “We have to move science forward with the mantra of Lab to Land.”

Referring to the fast-approaching season of annual examinations for students, Prime Minister Modi asked them to become Warrior, not Worrier. Prime Minister Modi said, “Go gleefully for the examination and come back with a smile. You have to compete with yourself, not with anyone else. Get adequate sleep and be mindful of time management. Do not stop playing, for those who play are the ones that blossom. Revision and smart methods of memorization are to be adopted, that is, overall, in these exams, you have to bring out your best.”

Prime Minister Modi said the month of March is also the last month of the financial year. It will be a very busy period for many. Even as economic activities intensify and activities of businessmen and entrepreneurs increase, in the midst of all these, one should not lower the guard against Corona.
