Maharashtra COVID19 Death toll rises to 47,599

Maharashtra on Friday  reported 5,229 new cases of coronavirus infection, taking its total tally to 18,42,587. According to the state’s public health department, 6,776 patients were discharged post recovery, taking the total number of recoveries to 17,10,050. The state reported 127 fatalities, taking the death toll to 47,599. The number of active cases, stands at 83,859.

Maharashtra’s recovery rate stands at 92.81 percent while the case fatality rate stands at 2.58 percent. Maharashtra has conducted 1.11 crore tests so far and the positivity rate stands at 16.55 percent.

Mumbai’s coronavirus tally increased by 813 to reach 2,84,509. The city reported 880 recoveries and 14 deaths during the day.
