Ghulam Nabi Azad blames 5-star culture among Congress leaders for party’s recent losses

Senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad has blamed the 5-star culture among the Congress leaders for the party’s recent losses in elections.

In an interview to a news agency, he said Congress leaders have lost the connect with the people on the ground.

Mr Azad said, till this 5-star culture is given up by Congress leaders, the party cannot win elections.

Veteran Congress leader further said that the party is at its lowest in the last 72 years and it does not even have the post of Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha during the last two terms.

Mr Azad was one of the 23 party leaders who wrote a letter to interim party president Sonia Gandhi in August this year, demanding a leadership overhaul.
