In Haryana, third phase trial of potential corona virus vaccine of Bharat Biotech, Covaxin has begun. Today, Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij was administered a trial dose of Covaxin at Ambala Cantonment. Mr. Anil Vij has become the first volunteer in the state for the third phase trial of the vaccine. He was kept under observation for some time after being administered the vaccine. Earlier, the minister underwent some tests at the hospital and afterwards he was administered the dose.
Vij is said to be the first cabinet minister of any state government to have registered himself as a volunteer to take the trial dose of a potential COVID-19 vaccine.

Before taking the trial dose, while talking to media Mr Vij said if all goes well, the vaccine against COVID-19 will be available to the people by the beginning of next year. Human trials of Covaxin had begun at Rohtak’s Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences in July.
