Wall Street’s main indexes advance with COVID-19 vaccine hopes

Wall Street’s main indexes advanced yesterday as signs of a working COVID-19 vaccine raised hopes of a faster-than-expected economic rebound. Though Dow Jones fell, technology stocks bounced back from steep losses this week.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.8 percent while the S&P 500 gained 0.8 percent. The Nasdaq Composite index climbed two percent.
