In Uttar Pradesh, state legislature’s day long special session on constitution day is underway in Lucknow. On the opening Addressing of the joint session of both the houses, Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel said that if there were no fundamental rights in our constitution, people would have not led a respectful life. She said, our constitution is based on the concept of democracy where all have equal opportunities.
The Governor said that fundamental rights and our duties are complementary to each other. She said, various programmes and schemes are being implemented by the state government for welfare of people. AIR correspondent reports that the law makers are discussing various aspects of life and ideas of Baba Saheb Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar.
Addressing joint sitting of both the houses Legislative Assembly and Legislative council, Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel said that it is due to our constitution, people lead respectful life. Earlier to this Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath paid homage to Baba Saheb by garlanding his statue at GPO Hazaratganj Lucknow.
Various programmes are being observed in schools, colleges and universities on the life and contribution of Baba Saheb to the Constitution. An informative exhibition on Indian constitution is displayed at Vidhan Bhawan premises.
