The 50th International Film Festival of India, IFFI, opened earlier this week in Goa. The festival will showcase some amazing films and exciting sessions to thousands of delegates. But locals and tourists who have not registered can also enjoy great cinema! The Open Air Screening section can be enjoyed for free.

AIR Correspondent reports, the theme of the Open Air Screenings in the Golden Jubilee year is ‘The Joy of Cinema’. 14 films including classics as well as comedies along with the movies from the related genres will be screened in this section.

Kishore Kumar’s all-time hit, Padosan along with Chalti ka naam gaadi, lead the pack of movies. Recent releases like Badhaai Ho also entertained audiences yesterday, and Munnabhai MBBS is bound to tickle attendees tomorrow!

The open-air screenings have been organised at two venues from 21st to 27th November. Joggers Park at Altinho, Panjim will screen movies on comedy and related genres. Cult favourite Andaz Apna Apna is being screened here tonight. Amod and Namrata Sinha, children of Vinay Sinha, the producer, were also present at the screening. The comedy of errors is remembered for its rib-tickling humour and unforgettable characters like Crime master Gogo!

Miramar Beach is the other venue. It will screen those from Indian Panorama section. Goa’s very own Nachom-ia Kumpasar in Konkani will be screened. India’s Oscar entry Hellaroo was tonight’s major attraction.

The open-air screenings are open to everyone and you need not register. The entry would be free for all.
