Sushma Swaraj hits out at Pakistan for creating terror groups like Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed & Haqqani Network

Hitting out strongly at Pakistan for creating terror groups like Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jaish-e-Mohammed, Hizbul Mujahideen and the Haqqani Network, India has asked Pakistani leaders to introspect as to why their country is infamous as the pre-eminent export factory for terror.

In her address to the UN General Assembly last night, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj accused Pakistan of waging a war against India. She said, while India made institutes like IIT, IIM and AIIMS, Pakistan created terror groups like LeT, JeM, Hizbul Mujahideen and Haqqani Network.

Mrs. Swaraj said, a country that has been the world's greatest exporter of havoc, death and inhumanity became a champion of hypocrisy by preaching about humanity from this podium. The External Affairs Minister said, India is fighting against poverty, but Pakistan is fighting against India through spreading terror.

Speaking in Hindi for the second consecutive year at the annual UNGA session, Mrs Swaraj said, India has risen despite being the principal destination of Pakistan's nefarious export of terrorism. She said, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had offered the hand of peace and friendship and Pakistan’s Prime Minister must answer why his nation spurned this offer.

Describing terrorism as an "existentialist danger" to mankind, Mrs Swaraj wondered how the international community will fight the menace if the UN Security Council cannot agree on the listing of terrorists.

The External Affairs Minister also expressed concerns over climate change, maritime security, unemployment, gender empowerment, nuclear proliferation and cyber-security.

Referring to the UN role and the goal set for UN reforms and security architecture, the Minister said that without improvements in the UN Peacekeeping, this goal cannot be achieved.

She said, at the 2005 World Summit, there was a consensus that the early reform of the Security Council is an essential element of our overall efforts to reform the United nations.

Mrs Swaraj also highlighted various welfare schemes and developmental works undertaken by the Narendra Modi government like Jan Dhan and the Mudra scheme - both considered pet projects of the Prime Minister.

The External Affairs Minister said, India's culture and thoughts have been shaped by history and philosophy that believes in peace as humankind's only rational and practical objectives.

Highlight India's traditional principles of the need to struggle for global peace and happiness, she read out lines from the Sanskrit mantra - Om Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah.

Mrs Swaraj wrapped up her address to the UN General Assembly saying - May all be happy; May all be healthy; May all see what is good; May all be free from suffering.
