Prime Minister Narendra Modi today reiterated India's commitment to support the development of Nepal according to the priorities of the neighbouring country. He expressed hope that the two countries will move fast to further broaden their partnership and deepen it in diverse fields. Mr. Modi said this while, inaugurating the first ever cross-border petroleum products pipeline in South Asia, the Motihari-Amlekhganj petroleum product pipeline with his Nepalese counterpart KP Sharma Oli through video conferencing. The Prime Minister said, it is a matter of great satisfaction that this first cross-border petroleum pipeline has been completed in record time.

"यह बहुत संतोष का विषय है कि दक्षिण एशिया की यह पहली क्रास बार्डर पेट्रालियम पाइप लाइन रिकार्ड समय में पूरी हुई है। जितनी अपेक्षा थी उससे एक प्रकार से आधे समय में यह बनकर तैयार हुई इसका श्रेय आपके नेतृत् को, नेपाल सरकार के सहयोग को और हमारे संयुक् प्रयासों को। इस पाइप लाइन से हर साल दो मिलियन मैट्रिकटन तक के क्लीन पेट्रोलियम प्रोडक्टस एफोर्डेबल रेटस पर नेपाल के सामान् लोगों को प्राप् होंगे।"

Mr. Modi added that the two nations have completed important bilateral projects and have quickly achieved results from several other initiatives in the last five years.

"भारत और नेपाल के बीच सदियों पुराने पारिवारिक और सांस्कृतिक रिश्ते हैं ये पीपुल टू पीपुल संबंध हमारे बायलिटेरल रिलेशंस का आधार है। पिछले कुछ वर्षों में हमारे बीच हायेस् पॉलिटिकल लेवल पर अभूतपूर्व नजदीकी आई है और नियमित संपर्क रहा है। विकास के लिए हमारी साझेदारी को और सक्रिय बनाने और नए-नए क्षेत्रों में सहयोग को और बढ़ाने के लिए हमने नए अवसरों का लाभ भी उठाया है।"

Speaking on the occasion, the Nepalese Prime Minister thanked the Indian government for its support.

"I would like to express my sincere thanks to Prime Minister Modi ji and the government of India for the support and cooperation to bring into operation such an important project. Nepal-India cooperation is not limited to a few projects alone. Many more bilateral projects covering various areas of cooperation such as railways, land, waterways, hydro power generation and integrated check posts, bridge, agriculture, tourism, etc. are in the pipeline."

The Motihari-Amlekhganj petroleum product pipeline is over 60 km-long. As of now, tankers carry petroleum products from India to Nepal as part of an arrangement which is in place since 1973.


Centre has set up a three member panel to oversee the bifurcation of  Jammu and Kashmir into two Union Territories. In a tweet, Minister of State in Prime Minister's Office, Dr Jitendra Singh said, the committee will look into distribution of assets and liabilities of Jammu and Kashmir between two successor Union territories, which will come into existence on 31st of October this year.

The committee headed by Former Defence Secretary Sanjay Mitra will have Retired IAS officer Arun Goyal and Retired Indian Civil Accounts Service  officer Giriraj Prasad Gupta  as members.


In Jammu and Kashmir, the Governor’s administration is mulling to roll out the Special Market Intervention Price Scheme of Government of India to procure nearly 12 Lakh Metric Tons of Apple from farmers of Kashmir on remunerative prices. In this connection, J&K Chief Secretary B V R Subrahmanyam chaired a meet via video conference with Deputy Commissioners of Kashmir Division to discuss the roll out of the Scheme.  More from our correspondent:

"In Jammu and Kashmir, the Governor’s administration is mulling to roll out the Special Market Intervention Price Scheme (MISP) of Government of India to procure nearly 12 Lakh Metric Tons of Apple from farmers of Kashmir on remunerative prices. It would be the first time in the history of J&K that such a special scheme is being introduced wherein nearly 60% of the estimated annual Apple production, which last year stood at 20 Lakh MTs will be procured from the Apple growers nearer their door steps. The scheme is expected to enhance the income of the growers in Kashmir Valley by about 2000 crore rupees. The period of procurement would be for six month beginning 1st of this month. The fund requirement for the scheme has been estimated as 8000 Crore rupees. With R.K. Raina's report from Jammu, Arti Rana, AIR News."


India has rejected the reference to Jammu & Kashmir in the Joint Statement issued by China and Pakistan after the recent visit of Chinese Foreign Minister. In response to a query,  External Affairs Ministry Spokesperson Raveesh Kumar said, Jammu & Kashmir is an integral part of India. The spokesman said, on the other hand, India has consistently expressed concerns to both China and Pakistan on the projects in so-called “China Pakistan Economic Corridor”, which is in the territory of India that has been illegally occupied by Pakistan since 1947. He said, India is resolutely opposed to any actions by other countries to change the status quo in Pakistan occupied Jammu & Kashmir. 


The Global Anti terror financing watchdog, FATF's Regional arm, Asia Pacific Group- APG is meeting in Bangkok to evaluate Islamabad's  compliance to its commitments on terror financing & money laundering, on which it has failed miserably so far. Pakistan has to answer 125 questions regarding its track record to curb terror financing.

Focus on the 9th to 13th of September meet is on reviewing the progress made by Islamabad on its June 2018 commitment when it agreed on a 27 point action plan. At the end of the Bangkok meet on September 13th, the global watchdog will decide whether Pakistan’s name stays on the grey list or if it would be added to the blacklist.


The facade of Islamabad as it tries to cover up its atrocities on Pashtuns, Balochs & other tribals has come to the fore once again. As the UNHRC Session gets underway in Geneva, several groups have appealed to the world body to censure Pakistan for its oppression of the minorities. The European Organization for Pakistani Minorities has highlighted how innocents are being killed and justice is denied to them. Several banners and placards have been placed by "Save the Baloch" campaign and " #Stop Genocide Pakistan" in Geneva, close to the UN Headquarters. These reflect how genocide is being carried out in Balochistan & Khyber Pakhtunwa region in a systematic manner by Pakistan.

Under the SupportPashtuns, the European umbrella Organization has demanded release of missing persons & putting an end to atrocities on Pashtuns among others. It has alleged that due to forced abduction and killing, more than 32000 Pashtuns have gone missing over the past 10 years.


Union minister Jitendra Singh Dr. Jitendra Singh today said that abrogation of Article 370 is the biggest achievement of the Modi government in the first 100 days of it is the second term. Addressing media in Jammu, Mr. Singh said that its a citizens of Jammu and Kashmir who know the importance of abrogation of the Article 370.

Addressing Media in Kolkata about the achivements of the government, Union Minister for Women and Child Development and Textile Smriti Irani said, BJP is committed for protecting the rights of Indian citizens. She said, illegal entry in the country will be dealt through constitution and laws. Mrs Irani said, over 6 crores 37 lakhs farmers have been benefitted under Prime Minister Kishan Vikash Yojana during the period.

"In these last 100 days, the Modi government has extended PM Kisan Yojana to a total of 6 crore 37 lakhs farmers across the country. And I am happy to share that 8 thousand 9 hundred fifty-five crore rupees have been directly transferred to farmer families in these last 100 days."


President Ram Nath Kovind will hold a bilateral meeting with his Iceland counterpart Guðni Thorlacius. Jóhannesson, today on the second day of his three nation tour of Iceland, Switzerland and Slovenia. Both India and Iceland have evinced keen interest in furthering trade and cultural relations and number of agreements will be signed between both the countries after the delegation level talks today. Later in the day the President will deliver a lecture on environmental issues in the University of Iceland.

In Madhya Pradesh, 313 Anganwadi centers have been developed as Child Education Centres under Rashtriya Poshan maah - National Nutritional Campaign. These centres are now providing primary education along with distribution of nutritious food. Official sources informed that all Anganwadi centres of the state will be developed as child education centres in the near future. A report:-

"27 thousand smart phones have also been provided in Madhya Pradesh for monitoring of nutritional food distribution in Anganwadi centers. Talking to All India Radio, Principal Secretary, women and child development Anupam Rajan said that a month long schedule has already been planed and followed by the department.

A Whatsapp number has been started by the department for complaints and suggestions regarding Anganwadi and distribution of food. State women and child development minister Smt. Imrati Devi said that strict action will be taken against those who are negligent in distribution of nutritious food to children. Sanjeev Sharma, AIR News, Bhopal."


The NDA Government has undertaken several reform measures in the first hundred days of its second term. Here is a look at its decisions for doubling farmers’ income.

"Doubling farmers’ income is  the major thrust area where  NDA government has worked to boost the agriculture sector in the country. It has extended the PM KISAN Scheme to another 3.44 crore farmers taking total beneficiaries to 6.37 crores. Five crore small and marginal farmers will get pension benefits under PM Kisan Maan Dhan Yojana in the first three years itself. The Centre has created a 40 lakh metric tonnes sugar buffer stock for one year. The reimbursement under the scheme will be directly credited into the farmers' account on behalf of mills. The government has also framed a sugar export policy. Export subsidy has also been approved for sugar mills for the sugar season 2019-20. Diwaker, AIR News Delhi."
