Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that his government is committed to development of Chhattisgarh. Addressing an election rally at Jagdalpur today Mr. Modi said  his government is working round the clock to ensure faster development of the state.
"आपको कठिनाइयों से मुक्‍त करना, हो सके उतनी सुवि धाएं बढ़ाते जाना आपके सपनों को पूरा करने के लिए ऐसी व्‍यवस्‍थाएं विकसित करना कि आपका परिश्रम, आपका पुरूषार्थ, आपका संकल्‍प आपकी सारी इच्‍छाएं पूर्ण करने के लिए वो माहौल उपयुक्‍त हो वह काम आए और ये बात हम लगातार करते आए हैं।" 
The Prime Minister also said that his government believes in inclusive development.
अपना पराया नहीं, मेरा तेरा नहीं, मेरी जाति, तेरी जाति भेदभाव नहीं। शहर और गांव में भेदभाव नहीं। दलित, पीडि़त, शोषित, वंचित, आदिवासी में भेदभाव नहीं। पुरूष और स्‍त्री में भेदभाव नहीं, युवा और बुजुर्ग में भेदभाव नहीं। इन भेदभाव को खत्‍म करके एक ही मंत्र ले करके हम चले हैं। सबका साथ, सबका विकास। 
Congress President Rahul Gandhi criticized the government's demonetization move. He was addressing an election rally in Kanker today. He will hold more rallies at Rajnandgaon district later today.  He would also release the Election Manifesto of Congress during the public meeting at Dongargarh.
Campaigning for the first phase of assembly elections in Chhattisgarh will end tomorrow evening. Out of the 18 constituencies which are going for polls in first phase on Monday, six are in Rajnandgaon district and 12 are in Bastar division. Most of these constituencies are affected by left wing extremism.

In Madhya Pradesh, filing of nominations for Assembly elections ends this evening. BJP and the Congress have announced their candidates for the 230-member Assembly.
The Congress has declared 229 candidates, leaving a lone seat (Jatara) for Loktantrik Janata Dal led by Sharad Yadav. The party has fielded Senior leader Arun Yadav from Budhni seat against Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. The most prominent names in the BJP's final list  are Krishna Gaur from Govindpura seat and Akash Vijayvargiya from Indore-1 seat. Krishna Gaur is the daughter in law of veteran leader and former chief minister Babulal Gaur while Akash Vijayvargiya is the son of senior BJP leader Kailash Vijayvargiya.

In Mizoram, a high-level Election Commission team, headed by Deputy Chief Election Commissioner Sudeep Jain, is reaching Aizawl this afternoon. The team comprising L. Khiangte, CEO, Jharkhand, S. B. Joshi, Secretary, ECI and Mrs. Lalzarmawii, Additional CEO, Mizoram will hold meetings with state government officials and representatives of NGO Coordination Committee to ensure free, fair and peaceful election in the state. The meeting will be held in the wake of stand-off witnessed early this week.  The NGOs were protesting removal of the Principal Secretary (Home) Lalnunmawia Chuaungo. Also, they were demanding removal of state's Chief Electoral Officer S.B Shashank. AIR Aizawl correspondent reports that today is the last day of the filing of nominations. The state is going for polls on 28th of this month.
Till yesterday, 99 candidates from various parties including Congress, Mizo National Front BJP and others filed nominations. Yesterday, Chief Minister and state Congress President Lal Thanhawla and many of his party candidates filed nominations. Mr. Lal Thanhawla filed nominations for Champhai and Serchip constituencies. On the other side, Campaigning by parties has picked up across the state. Yesterday, Union Minister of State for Tourism Alphons Kannathanam inaugurated BJP campaign in Siaha District town. Addressing the rally, the Minister said, the long awaited demand of the Mara people for amendment to the Sixth Schedule of the Constitution for delegation of more power to Mara Autnomous District Council will be taken up in the winter session of Parliament. In Jammu and Kashmir a gun fight between terrorists and a joint team of Army, J&K Police and CRPF broke out at Darganie-Gund Aripal area of Tral in Pulwama district in the forenoon today. AIR Srinagar correspondent reports that internet services have been suspended in Tral, Awantipora and Pampore areas of the district as part of search operation. Two terrorists are believed to be hiding there.

Uttarakhand is celebrating its 18th Foundation day with great enthusiasm today across the State. Governor Baby Rani Maurya took the salute at a ceremonial parade by the state police personnel at Dehradun. Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat paid tributes to the martyrs who sacrificed their life for the formation of the state. Due to implementation of Code of conduct following forthcoming local bodies election in the State on 18th November, State Government is not organising any big function. It was on 9th November 2000 that Uttarakhand was formed by dividing Uttar Pradesh to become the 27th state of Republic of India.
President Ram Nath Kovind has greeted the people of the state on this occcassion. In a tweet, Mr Kovind hoped that the state will continue to prosper and develop in the years to come.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has greeted people of Uttarakhand on their Statehood Day. In a tweet, Mr Modi hoped the state which is confluence of nature, progress and rich culture, will continue to set new records on the path of development.

The Kerala High Court today disqualified an Indian Union Muslim League, IUML, MLA for six years on a plea claiming that he used religion to win the Assembly polls in 2016 from Azhikode Assembly constituency. The court gave the judgement on a petition filed by LDF candidate M V Nikesh Kumar, who contested the election against Shaji. In his petition, Nikesh Kumar alleged that Shaji secured a win by a margin of 2,287 votes using corrupt practices.
IUML is a partner of the Congress-led opposition UDF in the state. The party said it will take a decision on filing an appeal after getting the judgement copy.

The Army today inducted new artillery guns and equipment, including K9 Vajra and M777 howitzers, at Deolali artillery centre in Nashik district of Maharashtra. The induction ceremony took place in the presence of Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Army chief General Bipin Rawat. More from our Mumbai correspondent:-
"Besides, M777 American Ultra Light Howitzers and the K-9 Vajra, the third gun system inducted is the 'Composite Gun Towing Vehicle' for towing some of the existing guns in service with the country, while K-9 Vajra is a self-propelled artillery gun. The induction ceremony here comes ahead of establishing the first regiment- each comprising about 18 guns- of the M777s and the Vajra by around mid-next year. For procuring 145 M777s, India in November 2016 had entered into a contract with the United States under the Foreign Military Sales programme for 5,070 crore rupees. KUNAL SHINDE, AIR NEWS MUMBAI"

In Sri Lanka, the new government today said that they are still contemplating whether a vote to decide majority will take place when the Parliament meets on Wednesday. Talking to  AIR correspondent, newly appointed Foreign Minister Dr. Sarath Amunugama said negotiations are going on with Parliament speaker to decide on the business of house on Wednesday. He said that normally, the committee of party leaders decides on the business of the House 24 hours before the session begins. Both sides led by  Mr. Wickremsinghe and new Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa have claimed majority in the house.

The United States and China are to resume  talks today after months of spiraling tension in a bid to resolve their trade disputes. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Defence Secretary Jim Mattis and two high-ranking Chinese policymakers are also likely to discuss steps to reduce military friction between the two countries. A planned trip by Mattis to Beijing last month was cancelled amid rising military tensions between the two powers. Today's meeting in Washington comes weeks before US President Donald Trump is expected to meet his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping on the sidelines of the Group of 20 summit in Argentina.

Jan Aushadhi is a Central Government scheme that makes available quality generic medicines at affordable prices. Pradhan Mantri Bharatiya Jan Aushadhi centres in 270 locations across Karnataka are selling around 600 types of medicines at discounts ranging from 50 to 90 percent. Bengaluru has around 25 such centres and 88 stores are in government hospitals across the state. Here is a Ground Report from our Bengaluru correspondent:
"Pradhan Mantri Bharatiya Jan Aushadhi centres in Bidar district in North Karnataka is selling generic medicines at  cheap rates. Rajkumar  is a beneficiary of the scheme in Bidar who shares his views here.

Parliamentary elections will be held in Bangladesh on 23rd of December. Chief Election Commissioner KM Nurul Huda in a nationwide address yesterday announced the date and said a favourable situation prevails in the country to hold free and fair elections. Mr Huda said November 19 will be the last date for filing of nominations. 
The ruling Awami League has urged the poll body to stick to its poll plan. However, it is still not immediately clear whether the opposition BNP plans to contest the elections. The BNP had boycotted the last election in 2014.

And in Cricket, India will open their campaign against New Zealand in ICC Women's World T20 beginning in the West Indies today. The Match between India and New Zealand will be played at Guyana this evening. The Indian eves will be led by skipper Harman Preet Singh.

Punjab seamer Siddarth Kaul has been  included in the squad for the third Twenty20 International  against West Indies to be played at Chennai on Sunday.
In a press release BCCI acting secretary Amitabh Choudhary said the Indian team management has decided to rest Umesh Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah and Kuldeep Yadav ahead of India's tour to Australia.
India begins its tour of Australia with the opening T20I at Brisbane on November 21.

In a bid to check environmental pollution in Jalandhar  city, the district administration has selected 10 locations in the city for sprucing them to enhance green under the ‘Smart City Project’. Disclosing this to media the Chief Executive Officer of the Smart City Project Mr. Vishesh Sarangal said the project would also help in giving a rejuvenated look to the city besides making it clean, green and pollution free.

Benchmark domestic stocks today logged marginal losses in afternoon trade amid negative global cues. The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange fell 60 points to 35,178 in intra-day trade a short while ago. The Nifty at National Stock Exchange also slipped 13 points or 0.12 percent to 10,586.
However, the rupee at the forex market appreciated 28 paise to 72 rupees and 72 paise against the US dollar in afternoon deals.
