Will move back towards 2015 nuclear deal if EU provides meaningful economic benefits, says Iran

FILE PIC
Iran has said it is willing to move back towards the 2015 nuclear deal if Europe provides meaningful economic benefits.

Talking to reporters at Munich Security Conference Iran's Foreign Minister, Mohammad Javad Zarif said Iran is prepared to slow down or reverse their nuclear programme commensurate to what Europe does. He said they have received irreversible harm because of US sanctions, however, they will reverse the steps provided that Europe takes steps that are meaningful.

The European parties to the Iran nuclear deal Britain, France and Germany have been battling to save it since US President Donald Trump withdrew from it and reimposed tough sanctions on Tehran.

Iran has responded to it with a series of steps back from its own commitments under the deal including by increasing uranium enrichment.
