WB: 68 candidates in fray after withdrawal of nominations for fourth phase

In West Bengal, 68 candidates are in the fray after withdrawal of nominations for the fourth phase of elections in the State today.

Elections will be held in 8 parliamentary seats on the 29th of this month. 

Prominent candidates in this phase of polls include Union Minister and BJP nominee Babul Supriyo and Surinder Singh Ahluwaliya, former minister and Congress candidate Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, cine actress and Trinamool Congress nominee Shatabdi Roy and CPI(M) candidate and former MP Mr Ram Chandra Dom.   

Meanwhile, State Additional Chief Electoral Officer Mr Sanjoy Basu said that Cooch Behar recorded 83.88 per cent and Alipurduar witnessed  83.70 per cent polling in the first phase of elections yesterday.
