UP govt swings in action to stop use of banned plastic in Lucknow

In Uttar Pradesh, the government has swung in action to stop the use of banned plastic in capital city Lucknow. Additional Chief Secretary- Home, Awanish Awasthi in a statement issued yesterday has said that concerned Police SHO, regional officer of Municipal corporation, trade tax and concerned magistrates and circle officers will be held directly responsible if restricted plastic is found selling in their area after August 31st.

The ACS has sought report along with names of traders selling banned plastic, from DM, SSP, Municipal Commissioner and pollution control board within three days.
