Sultanpur Kidnapping: UP govt announces ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh for deceased child, Rs 2 lakh for treatment of his brother

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath today asked police officials to launch statewide campaign for verification of domestic helps after it was found that the domestic help was behind the kidnapping of two brothers in Sultanpur district and killing of one of them. 

Expressing deep sorrow over the killing of a child in the case, Chief Minister said that strict action will be taken against those responsible for kidnapping and killing. State government has announced ex-gratia of 5 lakh rupees for the death of the child and 2 lakh rupees for the treatment of his brother. 

CM today visited hospital to see the injured child who was rescued from the clutches of kidnappers by the police in Sultanpur. AIR correspondent reports that CM said that four kidnappers are arrested and police has been asked to nab the perpetrators of kidnapping. The child along with his younger brother was kidnapped yesterday in Katka Bazar area of Sultanpur district when they were returning from their school.

Kidnappers asked ransom of 50 lakh rupees from the father of the children who is a businessman. Acting swiftly after the incident police conducted raids and managed to corner the kidnappers in Kotwali Dehat area of the district. 

During the encounter kidnappers killed the younger child while one kidnapper got injured in police firing. Police arrested four kidnappers and managed to rescue the elder child and he was referred to King Goerge Medical University Lucknow for treatment.
