Sikkim Governor Ganga Prasad convenes meeting for resuming classes post lockdown

Sikkim governor Ganga Prasad today convened a meeting with state education minister KN Lepcha and additional chief secretary of education department GP Upadhyaya regarding the department’s preparedness for resuming classes at educational institutions after the lockdown is lifted.

The governor urged the department to prepare policy guidelines and plan of action for safety protocol and arrangements before the resumption of normal classes.

Mr Lepcha informed about steps taken to prepare the post-lockdown plan of action and comprehensive policy guidelines for all institutions in line with central guidelines.
Mr Upadhyaya informed about various online and distance classroom initiatives the department has taken during the lockdown including classes being taken through All India Radio, Gangtok and cable television.
