School syllabus proposed to be reduced by half: HRD Minister
DD News
Human Resource Development Minister Prakash Javadekar has said that the school syllabus is proposed to be reduced by half to provide enough time to students to develop their talents.
He said this after inaugurating Kala Utsav in New Delhi today. Mr Jawadekar said, in the present day students are bogged down so much in studies right from eighth standard onwards that they have no time to spare for manifesting and nurturing their talents.
He said, 26 crore students in schools and another four crores in colleges are our assets and they are the future.
The Minister said, that teachers have a big responsibility of identifying and nurturing the talents in the students and encouraging them.
