President, PM express condolences over passing away of Girish Karnad

President Ram Nath Kovind expressed his condolences over the demise of the Jnanapith awardee, writer, actor and doyen of Indian theatre.

In his tweet, the President said, with the passing away of Girish Karnand, cultural world has become poor today.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also expressed condolences over the passing away of  noted  film artist Girish Karnad. In a tweet, Mr. Modi said, Girish Karnad will be remembered for his versatile acting across all mediums. The Prime Minister said,  the noted  artist  also spoke passionately on causes dear to him and his works will continue being popular in the years to come.  Mr. Modi  said, he is saddened by his demise. 

Union Information and Broadcasting Minister, Prakash Javadekar also expressed condolences over the demise of noted Indian film artist Girish Karnad. In a tweet, Mr Javadekar said, he is saddened by the passing away of  Girish Karnad.
