Preparations in full swing for first-ever Global Investors Summit in Jammu and Kashmir

AIR
As part of preparations to the first-ever Global Investors Summit-2020 to be held in the month of April in Jammu and Kashmir, roadshows have been scheduled from 17th February onwards in major cities across the country.

Each roadshow shall focus on showcasing the specific sectors for seeking investment in J&K.  The roadshows will be held at Bengaluru and Kolkata on 17th, Mumbai on 21st, Hyderabad on the 2nd of March, Chennai on 5th and Ahmedabad on 9th of March.

The Government has deputed 54 officers deputed to Bengaluru, Kolkata, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai and Ahmedabad for participation in roadshows and for interaction with potential investors as part of the pre-event activities for J&K Global Investors Summit 2020. International roadshows are also being planned to attract foreign investment. Besides, Mini Conclaves will be held at Srinagar and Jammu in the month of March.

Chief Secretary B V R Subrahmanyam, who is the head of the Apex Committee constituted for the successful conduct of the summit, chaired a review meeting. He expressed optimism that the summit will prove to be a gala event and will be a determining factor in ushering J&K into an industrial hub.

The summit will not only help to present business-friendly policies of the Government; identify business opportunities in J&K to participating trade and industry organizations but also harmonize J&K’s intrinsic strength and aspirations of development and employment opportunities.

The Administrative Secretaries and Head of Departments will hold one on one interaction with the potential investors in their respective Departments/areas so as to make the summit productive and outcome-oriented.
