PM reviews Kedarnath Nath development & reconstruction project with Uttarakhand govt
DD News
Prime Minister Narendra Modi today conducted a review of the Kedarnath Math development and reconstruction project with the Uttarakhand State Government via video conferencing.
Laying out his vision for the reconstruction of the shrine, the Prime Minister said that the State Government should envision and design development projects for holy sites like Kedarnath and Badrinath in a way that stands the test of time and is yet eco-friendly and in harmony with nature and its surroundings.
In Uttarakhand , Char Dham Yatra will not begin till 30th of this month at least. Pilgrims from within the state except for three districts where Four shrines are situated and pilgrims outside of the state will not be allowed in the four Char Dham shrines of Badrinath, Kedarnath, Yamunotri, and Gangotri before 30 June. Local pilgrims of Chamoli, Rudraprayag and Uttarkashi will be allowed in limited numbers to perform puja- Archana where Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham are situated.
A decision to start the yatra will be taken after 30 June. Priests and Teerth purohits of the Char Dham shrines have welcomed the decision.
Meanwhile with strict COVID -19 precautionary measures like wearing of Masks and social distancing norms put in place, temples of the state except Dehradun have been reopened after a gap of over two months. However, the devotees' turnout remained low in most of the shrines.
