PM Modi expresses grief over loss of lives due to accidents in West Bengal, Gujarat

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed grief over the loss of lives due to accidents in Jalpaiguri, West Bengal and in Surat, Gujarat.
He also announced an ex-gratia of two lakh rupees each from the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund to the next of kin of those who lost their lives in these incidents. Fifty thousand rupees each will be given to those injured.
In a series of tweets, Mr. Modi said, the road accident in Dhupguri in Jalpaiguri is extremely anguishing.
In this time of sadness, prayers are with the bereaved families. He also termed the truck accident in Surat as tragic saying his thoughts are with the bereaved families. The Prime Minister also prayed for early recovery of the injured people.
