Over 12 thousand passengers arrived in Mumbai under Vande Bharat Mission: Maharashtra govt

@airindiain
Maharashtra Government has informed that over twelve thousand passengers have arrived in Mumbai via 78 flights under the Vande Bharat Mission. A statement from the Chief Minister’s Office informs that these include 4014 passengers who reside outside Maharashtra. It adds that an additional 80 flights are expected to bring thousands of more stranded passengers back to India by the end of this month.

So far, citizens stuck in 38 foreign countries, including those in Europe, America, Gulf region and Asia have been brought back. All the passengers have to compulsorily remain in institutional quarantine, either in Mumbai or in their respective district centres. Citizens from other states are accommodated in Mumbai until their travel passes and other necessary documentation is completed.

The third phase of Vande Bharat Mission was launched last week after successfully bringing home lakhs of stranded citizens since the start of lockdown.
