No political vendetta in arrest of P.Chidambaram: Tamilisai Soundararajan

AIR
The Tamil Nadu BJP President Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan has said, there is no political vendetta in the arrest of former Union Minister and Congress leader P.Chidambaram.

Talking to reporters in Thanjavur today, she said, the BJP is being blamed for the action by the CBI and the ED to malign the party, as the opposition could not succeed in proving their charges over the Rafael deal.

She said, all the actions against Mr Chidambaram are being taken by following due procedures, and added, if he is proved innocent, he would be set free.

Ms Soundararajan also blamed the DMK of committing a major mistake by way of organizing a demonstration in New Delhi over the Jammu & Kashmir issue.

Meanwhile, the State Unit of the CPI (M) has said, the arrest of Mr Chidambaram is an act of political vendetta. In a statement issued by its State Secretary Balakrishnan, it is said that Central agencies like the CBI and the ED are being used for scoring political goals.
