MoS Finance Anurag Thakur assures people of Ladakh to extend all possible help for development

Union Minister of State for Finance Anurag Thakur has assured the people of Ladakh that Union Government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi will extend all possible help for development of the region. He addressed a gathering at opening ceremony of Naropa Festival 2019, at Hemis Monastery near Leh on Monday.

Mr Thakur said that immediately after giving the Union Territory Status to Ladakh, the Union Government has sent 15th Finance Commission to study the requirements of Ladakh region. He assured both the Hill Councils of Ladakh region that their demands will be immediately addressed.  

The Minister said that Zojilla tunnel, Bilaspur-Leh Railway line and new terminal building at Leh airport are going to provide all-weather and cheaper connectivity to Ladakh region. Mr Thakur also assured that a cricket academy will be set up to tap the potential of the Ladakh region.
