Maharashtra: Western, Central Railways resume selected services for essential staff in Mumbai

In Mumbai, selected suburban services resumed early this morning, on up and down routes over Western and Central Railways for essential staff of State Government only. The Western Railways tweeted that all booking offices opened at all stopping stations.

These special suburban services will not be available for general passengers/public. The Railways has requested not to rush to the stations and follow medical and social protocols as mandated for COVID19.

Around1.25 lakh essential staff including 50,000 on western railway as identified by the state government are expected to travel by these trains. The WR will run 73 pairs of its 12 car suburban services between Churchgate & Dahanu Road and Churchgate & Virar while the CR will run 200 services between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus & Kasara/Karjat and Panvel.
