Ladakh: Over 70 pct people in Leh, Kargil issued Ayushman Bharat Golden cards

Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana has become a ray of hope in the northern frontiers of Himalayas.
People, who are cut off for six months from the rest of the world with limited resources, have proportionate income sources in Ladakh. The sparsely populated region has its challenges in health services.
However, ever since the launch of the world’s biggest health care programme Ayushman Bharat medical attention has been taken care by the programme, in Ladakh region.
Ayushman Bharat is progressing steadily in Ladakh region. Over 70 percent of people in Leh and Kargil have been issued Golden cards of Ayushman Bharat. Those who are not covered according to the 2011 census but eligible for the benefit under the scheme are specially covered by the PM’s intervention.
In Ladakh, ten public hospitals are empanelled to avail the health and medical benefits under Ayushman Bharat scheme. IN the cashless transactions, patients have to carry the Golden card, get admitted and walk out from the hospital after the treatment. Entire process of Ayushman Bharat is seamless and hassle free for the beneficiaries.
Different packages for various ailments are prepared, doctor and health care workers incentives and expenses of medicines will be borne from the funds provided to the beneficiary account under the programme.
A ladakhi woman, who is undergoing dialysis for kidney ailments twice a week is all praise for Ayushman Bharat. Earlier, she used to take treatment in Delhi and spent her husband’s all savings for dialysis. Now, at her doorsteps in SNM hospital with the help of Ayushman Bharat, she is wearing a smile again.
Grandson of a poor patient from Khaltsi, who is taking treatment for respiratory issues, thanked Ayushman Bharat for saving his grandfather’s life.
Its not just a story of Ladakhis in Leh and Kargil, even from neighboring districts like Doda , also patients reach Leh to get treatment under the Ayushman Bharat.
