Flood situation improves in Karnataka

The flood situation in Karnataka has improved with the water level receding in 21 districts across the State and relief and rescue operations are going on in full swing. Around 6.9 lakh people have been evacuated in the last 10 days. The State and National Disaster Response forces also rescued 51,460 animals while 852 washed away in the floods.


Meanwhile, Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa visited flood-affected areas in his home district of Shivamogga to assess the damages to houses, crops, roads and buildings by torrential rains.
